2013
I am a graduate student at the University of Arizona, working on a PhD in physics. I have recently defended, and will be graduating May 2013.
I find it fascinating to study what at the most fundamental level makes the universe tick. My current area of study is particle physics, and study supersymmetry (and at times Higgs physics) at the ATLAS experiment at CERN, in Switzerland. I also am quite interested in areas of astrophysics and cosmology. The dark matter problem is of special interest to me, and is in fact one of the main draws of supersymmetry to me.
The common piece of all of my work is a love of solving complex problems, developing software to apply sophisticated data analysis techniques. I am currently looking for work which will allow me to continue these pursuits. I am quite interested in expanding my horizons, learning about new fields.
Aside from scientific research, I also have a great deal of interest in physics education. I find that I love talking about physics as much as performing research on it.
