News from CERN
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is now cold at 1.9K. The eight sectors are now being commissioned with 6kA of current. Beam injection into the LHC is still planned for mid-November. Meanwhile, the ATLAS experiment has moved to 24 hr operation of collecting cosmic ray data. One area of intense activity is finalizing the Data Quality Assessment (DQA) machinery for the experiment. This is an area in which we are have significant responsibility, having written the DQA software for the CSC muon detectors and the High Level Trigger (HLT) jet and missing Et triggers.
